. karina rusk joins us with more. >> well, cheryl, this is considered a crime scene and the san jose police have actually been here since just after 1:30 this morning. take a look. they are n clearing away most of the debray. a san jose police suppose person told me the driver of the car is 19-year-old jose antonio hernandez. he was treated for minor injuries at the hopital and then booked into the santa clara county jail on several charges, including two counts of vehicular manslaughter. the two passengers in his backseat of the green ford explorer died in this hoific crash. the passenger in the front seat suffered moderate injuries and is at a local hospital. the chp is not commenting yet on whether this was an actual pursuit or chase but police say a chp unit did make contact with the driver of the explorer at st. james and notre dame which is about eight blocks from here. the driver took off and lost control of hills car here at st. james an fifth street slamming into a parked jeep cherokee and then careened forward. >> after collidi with that vehicle,t continued eastbound and st

always gets us there... ... sometimes it just takes us a little longer to get back. ♪ finally allowed back home in san bruno three days after the massive explosion and fire killed four neighborses and seriously injured a dozen more. investigators still don't know what caused the gas line to explode as the search for clues continues. the california public utility commission is ordering pg&e to inspect all 5,000 miles of the gas line statewide. they are calling on the utility to change procedure for responding to gas leaks and preserve all records for its work on the line that goes through san bruno. pge crews are working to -- pg&e crews are working to restore power. lilian kim is live in san bruno with their home coming. lilian? >> beverly mandell's home was initially yellow taged which means she could only go home to retrieve her belongings. inside there are remanence of the pipeline explosion. >> i'm probably gonna have to have a new ceiling or something. that's also got holes in it. >> i expected to be in tears, but i wasn't. i am lucky this house is still standing here. >> dozens

again-for all of us. >>> good morning everyone. thanks for joining us. i'm carolyn tyler. this sounds too familiar, a natural gas explosion has killed at least two people and leveled part of their neighborhood. it happened in belgium. the explosion sent 17 people to the hospital and leveled at least three homes in the northern part of brussels. witnesses told police they heard a loud blast and then felt the ground shake just before midnight brussels' time. crews have spent more than 12 hours on the scene. >> today is a day off for the cleanup crews in san bruno. work was done in the disaster zone yesterday. 29 of the 35 residents who lost their homes have signed a liability waiver including a guarantee they won't have any out-of-pocket expenses. pg&e says it will ultimately pick up the estimated $60,000 per house. officials hope to have the cleanup work con within four weeks before the rainy season begins. governor swarzenegger discussed the san bruno disaster in his weekly radio address. she promising a full investigation. >> in this case you really have to have a panel. i can

us they hope to narrow the evacuation area and let some people back in hopefully as early as today. while it is too dangerous for homeowners to get back into the fire zone, news crews get a quick look into the disaster area. lillian kim shows us what's there. >> glen view drive and earl avenue is ground zero and this ruptured pipeline is what started it all. a piece of the 30-inch pg&e pipeline is in the middle of the intersection. the explosion was so large it blew out of the ground. they inspected the crater and still no word what caused the high-pressure pipeline to rupture. in all destroyed 37 homes in the crestwood neighborhood. some sites there's nothing more than a chimney to indicate where a house once stood. others are still standing. those with little or no damage have been marked with green fliers but many have been red-tagged deemed uninhabitable. brian wants to see his house but emergency officials aren't allowing residents to take a look just yet. >> keep changing their mind. i don't know why they changed their mind but i just wanna see my house. get stuff out. pretty
